An intensive care unit dedicated to gut and liver emergencies rather than a general ICU bed.
What it involves
Gastrointestinal bleeding, cholangitis and acute-on-chronic liver failure are managed here, along with post-operative care, at a stated 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for such patients.

Preparation is the part patients most often get wrong, and it is the part that most often causes a procedure to be repeated.
